ACEIB

What is ACEIB?


ACEIB is the association of language schools in the Basque Country, and was founded in 1985.


ACEIB is comprised of the most prestigious language schools in a variety of cities, towns and villages in the Basque Country. Over 15,000 students attend ACEIB language schools, where more than 200 teachers give classes in a variery of languages.


ACEIB is a member of FECEI (the federation of language schools in Spain), which is the body which represents the language-teaching sector when dealing with the educational, administrative and legislative authorities in Spain. FECEI also represents the language-teaching sector in ACADE, the body responsible for private education in Spain.


ACEIB's Mission:


General Aims of the Association:



  • Promote, maintain and defend the principle of liberty of language teaching.

  • Provide back-up services considered to be in the interests of and beneficial to its members.

  • Organise training and cultural events related to the language sector and of interest to its members.

  • In general, any other aims in defence of the association or its members which might be assigned to it or be otherwise considered necessary.

Specific Aims of the Association:



  • Represent, handle and defend the interests of its members.

  • Mainatain and increase the prestige of language-teaching.

  • Encourage a spirit of cooperation among member schools and their staff.

  • Insist that member schools conduct their business with complete honesty in their publicity and commercial dealings.

Similarly, it is hoped to encourage a spirit of cooperation for the benefit of students, teachers and individual schools.


ACEIB's Vision



  • It is hoped that the general public will recognise us as prestigious association and that the members schools will be the public's first choice for language training.

  • It is hoped that we will be seen as a point of reference in the community and that the relevant authorities look to us when it comes to developing anything to do with languages.
