Puertollano is a small town, midway between Madrid and Seville.

The town has a population of approximately 55,000.

Puertollano is probably the only non-agricultural town in the province of Ciudad Real. However, it has an extensive petro-chemical and solar energy industrial base.

The high speed train (AVE) stops here and in Ciudad Real en route from Madrid to Seville. Madrid is only an hour away, while a trip to Seville takes an hour and a half and a trip to Cordoba just 40 minutes.
